  • What does it mean when my check engine light comes on?

Modern vehicles have many sophisticated and computerized systems that are designed to monitor engine performance and emissions. The light indicates that the sensors have detected something is wrong with your engine, but it does not give any more information than that. This is why it’s so important to bring your vehicle in to be serviced when you see the light – even if it is driving fine now, your vehicle is trying to alert you to an issue that may become a larger problem in the future.

  • Will it hurt my car if I drive it while the check engine light is on?

Probably not, but you should definitely bring it in to be checked out as soon as possible.

  • When do I need to replace my belts and hoses?

You should replace your belts and hoses every three to four years. If you can see cracks in your belts, you should bring your vehicle in right away.

  • What should I do when my vehicle overheats?

This is a much more serious problem than some people realize. If your vehicle is overheating for too long, you can damage your engine. When your car overheats, pull over to the side of the road as soon as it is safe and turn off your engine, then have your vehicle towed to Kleiber Automotive for repair.
